First visit to The Tower at Meridian Quay

After seeing this building being built over the past 5 years, I decided it was time to take a visit.

I was actually all for the construction of Wales tallest building here in Swansea. I'm a fan of the quay/marina itself and adding this impressive structure to the area (I think) only added to it's worth. The area has a certain character to it and improving the area can only be good for it.

Anyway, I knew there was a resturaunt at the top of the building so we took the lift to the top and had a look around.

I can't fault them for the work they've done inside - it's impressive. The thing I was most impressed with was the view though. O.K - it wasn't the best of days to take in any scenary let alone this one but to be able to see Swansea from almost a birdseye view is something special. Looking around the old town I was able to make out areas like the Vetch field, a building I used to live in on S.t Helens road, The Grand theatre, Mount pleasant and not to mention a great view looking up Swansea Valley.

Here's a few photos I took from the top at the grape and olive restaurant.
