Following on from the photograph of Solar I put on the web site earlier today, I decided to upload another gem. It is Oxwich castle and in the background the bow (front) of the Solar resting just off the beach.
This photo was taken by Terence Soames (I assume it was taken in an aeroplane) and was published in 1949 in Volume 2 of Gower the Journal of the Gower Society.

There are not many photographs of the wreck in Oxwich bay from this time so this picture is quite special. It is even more clear to me from looking at this photograph that the wreck was a prominent feature of the bay at this time.
