Weekend in Oxwich (16th April) - Friday journey

Well, it's been a while since I last visited Swansea and the family caravan in Oxwich. Months of playing football matches on a Saturday and various other things have prevented me from making the journey sooner. We had planned to come down on the 17th of April and set that date some time ago.

Traditionally, we always drive down on the Friday after work and so we headed down with the car full of luggage and not a cloud in the sky!

We took the decision to avoid the M4 motorway, taking the turn at Raglan and heading down the heads of the valleys route. This route is much quieter in terms of traffic and is much more visually pleasing. It takes around the same time as using the motorway so it's really a wonder why we don't use it more!

Arriving into Swansea, the sun had set quite considerably and we headed over the marina where we had some food before heading over the road to Tescos to grab some essentials and then heading to the caravan.

On the way down there I managed to take some photographs from inside the car (I wasn't driving!).
