Port eynon bay

A popular beach situated on the south of Gower. Port Eynon bay is approximately one mile of curving sand running from just before the salt house on the west and joining at Horton on the east.

As you arrive into Port Eynon you instantly realise that the roots of this village have much to do with the coast. For instance the marble statue of a lifeboatman outside the church. This marks the tragedy from 1916 when three men lost their lives at sea coming to the assistance of SS Dunvegan, a ship which had come in to some trouble off of Oxwich point.

In terms of access, the village of Port Eynon is located right next to the beach so it is very accessible. There is a free car park right next to the beach and a pay and display car park further along. There are toilets next to the beach and also shops selling beach toys and refreshments. There are also two very good fish and chip shops here, along with a restaurant and a pub further into the village.
