Oxwich bay
Oxwich Bay is situated in south Gower and is the second largest beach on the peninsula. The bay curves around for approximately 2.5 miles starting at the Oxwich Bay Hotel on the west to the start of Tor Bay on the east. It is possible to walk on this beach at low tide to Tor Bay, Three Cliffs Bay and finally Pobbles Bay, however care must be taken when attempting this as the tide can quickly come in.
Access to the beach is very easy as the car park runs right alongside the west end of the bay next to the hotel. The car park however, is not free and a charge will apply for using it.
The bay is very popular with swimmers and water sports enthusiasts. Typical sports include sailing, water skiing, surfing and wind surfing. There is a large slipway at the west end of the bay running from the car park to the beach. This is used to tow and launch boats into the sea.
